Exclusive clip of Paul Thomas Anderson’s coming of age film

We present an exclusive clip of Paul Thomas Anderson’s new coming-of-age film “Licorice Pizza”. The “Magnolia” director goes into the San Fernando Valley of the 1970s. The story focuses on the everyday life of high school student Gary Valentine, played by Cooper Hoffman. Bradley Cooper and Haim member Alana Haim will also be there.

Licorice Pizza follows the romance of young photo assistant Alana Kane (Haim) and Gary Valentine, a child actor-turned-entrepreneur. The clip shows a conversation between the two of them, who seemed a little awkward when they first met:

In keeping with the 1970s ambience of the film, its soundtrack also conveys the flair of that era. With the help of musicians like Suzi Quatro, David Bowie or Nina Simone, you are transported back in time. Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, who has worked with Anderson in the past, also contributed a song to the soundtrack. Like the film, its track is called “Licorice Pizza”.

The film was also recently named one of the ten best films of the past year by the American Film Institute (AFI). “Licorice Pizza” joins the ranks of Adam McKay’s disaster satire “Don’t Look Up” and Steven Spielberg’s musical remake “West Side Story”, among others.
