The future of the goalscorer is still unclear and causes speculation. How hard is FC Bayern trying to keep the superstar? Sports director Salihamidzic has a prominent advocate in advertising.

It is still not certain where Robert Lewandowski will play in the future. The striker’s contract with FC Bayern runs until 2023, talks about an early extension are stalling, a departure this summer is in the air – only then could the German record champions collect a fee for the 33-year-old.

Also in focus: Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. The question that often comes up: Are Munich trying enough for Lewandowski, who has already scored 342 competitive goals for the club since moving in 2014?

Salihamidzic himself said the day after winning the tenth championship in a row on “Sky 90”: “He has a contract until 2023. We will now hold talks and see how they develop.” Lewandowski himself, on the other hand, kept a low profile.

“Responded perfectly from a manager’s point of view”

Salihamidzic has now received special praise for his behavior in poker for the top scorer: “It’s part of this poker now and it was just right from Hasan,” writes record national player Lothar Matthäus in his column on Sky.

And further: “Of course he will have to be judged by his words. If Lewandowski leaves the club for any reason, then at least he has raised the price. From a manager’s point of view, Hasan has reacted perfectly.”

Among other things, FC Barcelona is said to have increased interest in Lewandowski, and Polish media had already reported a move to the Catalans weeks ago. The back and forth about the whereabouts of the world-class striker will probably continue a little longer.
