Mika Salo became famous as a Formula 1 driver. In the past few days he has used his reach for a serious cause – with success.

Good news for Mika Salo: After days of searching, the former Formula 1 driver’s son has been found. 16-year-old Alec had been missing since Saturday, but on Monday evening his father Mika reported that the teenager had reappeared.

“Thank you to everyone who helped with the search by sharing this post. We will not be commenting further,” Salo said on Instagram. He had previously launched a call to help with the search with a photo of his son.

Salo had written: “My son Alec Lindblom is missing. Last seen on Saturday evening, January 3rd. I ask that you report any information about him to the emergency call center. Alec is 16 years old, 176 cm tall and looks sporty. He has blonde hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black, knee-length down jacket.” The appeal was apparently successful.

Mika Salo was part of the Formula 1 world from 1994 to 2002, driving for Tyrrell and Toyota, among others. In total, he competed in more than 100 races and made it onto the podium twice.
