Joachim Löw has been without a new coaching job for more than four years. Now the former world champion coach of the German national soccer team is said to have received an offer from a new World Cup, but it is probably not possible to work.
As reported by the Austrian platform “OE24”, Joachim Löw is said to have been contacted by the decision -makers of the national team of Uzbekistan. The 65-year-old was therefore submitted an offer from the first World Cup participant.
After a few days of thinking, however, Löw ultimately decided against an engagement in the Central Asian country, as the “Bild” unveiled on Wednesday.
Despite the activation of the Uzbek embassy in Berlin, there was not a meeting with those responsible for the association, which now has to plan elsewhere.
Uzbekistan had qualified for the finals of a world championship for the first time as the second of his qualification group.
Löw wants to “deal with exciting options”
Löw had recently left open to football. In particular, he could imagine a potential “World Cup or EM participant”, the experienced trainer told the “kicker” at the beginning of the year.
He feels ready for a coaching activity again and will “deal with exciting options”.
With the German selection, Löw became world champion in Brazil in 2014. Before his commitment to the DFB, he was a trainer at VfB Stuttgart, Fenerbahce and Austria Vienna.
His center of life has been in the Freiburg region for many years. According to his own statement, he does not want to leave the South Baden metropolis permanently – but maybe limited in time for a trainer engagement.
A task away from the sideline, on the other hand, is not for Löw, a supervisor role like Jürgen Klopp at Red Bull is not striving for. “I see myself as a coach,” the 65-year-old made it unequivocally clear.
