Ex-member Alan Wilder mourns the loss of Andy Fletcher

Andy Fletcher, keyboardist for Depeche Mode, passed away on Thursday (May 26) at the age of 60. The band announced this with great sadness. Just a day later, ex-colleague Alan Wilder (left Depeche Mode in 1995) also made a statement.

“It hit me out of the blue to hear of the death of former Depeche Mode colleague Andy Fletcher yesterday,” he wrote Facebook. “My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Grainne and all the family at this troubling time. Rest in peace Fletch. Alan Wilder.”

Depeche Mode mourned their keyboard player with a touching social post. “‘Fletch’ had a real heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a good chat, a nice laugh or a cold beer,” read a Twitter account. “Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that you think of them and respect their privacy at this difficult time.”
