Max Kruse is currently still playing for the Berlin club Al-Dersimspor. But the 36-year-old has other plans privately.

An ex-international in the Berlin district league has been kicking since April 2024: Max Kruse has been wearing the second team of Al-Dersimspor since then. Recently drew attention to itself as a podcaster. But now the 36-year-old is apparently planning a radical cut: Kruse wants to leave Germany.

“I probably want to emigrate, actually,” said Kruse in his podcast “Flatterball”, which he operates together with the former Bundesliga professional Martin Harnik. The former striker of Werder Bremen, Union Berlin and Borussia Mönchengladbach restricted: “At least half-halbe. We actually consider not spending the winter months in Germany.”

Kruse still left a possible goal: “There are one or two options.” The decision has not yet been made, but in spring he wanted to explore a possible new home with his wife Dilara. “We will fly to a country in March, April and take a closer look at them. Of course we also dealt a little more intensely with a certain country, looked at real estate and such.”

The United States could be a favorite for the new place of residence. Kruse’s ten-year-old son Lauro-Maxim lives with his mother near Fort Myers, Florida. However, Kruse does not reveal whether this plays a role in choosing the location. Only one knowledge is certain for him: “My goal is to always get out of Germany for half a year and to only spend half a year here.”

Between 2013 and 2015, Kruse had played 14 caps for the DFB team, scoring 4 goals, and at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the Hamburg native was in German.
