“With great sadness we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died,” says People In a statement from the family. “Brandon fought bravely against cancer for more than three years. He has passed peacefully, surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the privacy of the family in this very difficult time.”
That Blackstock was not doing well on Wednesday when Clarkson postponed her performances in Las Vegas in connection with his health. “Although I normally keep my private life for myself, the father of my children has been sick in the past year and at the moment I have to be there for them,” the singer said.
The couple was married between 2013 and 2022 and has two children: River (11) and Remington (9). Blackstock had two more children from an earlier marriage.
