After his professional career, Demy de Zeeuw tried to earn his money with fashion. The success with his company was recently manageable.

Demy de Zeeuw was once a Dutch international – after his career, he tried primarily as an entrepreneur. With his lifestyle brand “Balr.” he wanted to combine football flair and luxury fashion. After more than ten years, the company has ended: the company has filed for bankruptcy. This is reported by the Dutch newspaper “Algemeen Dagblad”.

“Balr.” Started in 2013 – together with manager Juul Manders and entrepreneur Ralph de Geus. The brand directed as a “luxurious lifestyle brand” with a strong connection to the world of professional footballers. Not only clothing, but also shoes, perfumes, fat bikes and even beds were sold.

What will happen to the around 45 employees is still open. A spokesman said this was the responsibility of the insolvency administrator. “Balr.” Currently maintains two shops: one in the Dutch Roosendaal and one in the Belgian Maasmechelen – in addition to the online shop.

In his career, de Zeeuw played more than 400 competitive games as a professional, including 27 missions for the Dutch national team. The central midfielder was on the pitch for Ajax Amsterdam and AZ Alkmaar. He stopped in 2015.
