Jens Härtel has a new job. The former coach of Eintracht Braunschweig is joining a third division team.
Jens Härtel will be the new coach at FC Erzgebirge Aue from January 2nd. The 55-year-old worked at Eintracht Braunschweig until October 2023 and terminated his contract there early in order to take on the new challenge in Aue. In a club statement, Härtel expressed his excitement for the team and the region.
Jörg Emmerich will continue to look after the team until he takes office in Aue von Härtel. Emmerich took over the position after parting ways with Pavel Dotchev, but was unable to stop the negative trend with three defeats in a row.
Aue’s President Roland Frötschner was pleased about the commitment: “We are very proud to have convinced a coach like Jens Härtel.” The aim is to secure a successful future for the club with this personnel decision. Härtel brings with him experience from his time at traditional clubs such as 1. FC Magdeburg and Hansa Rostock.
Härtel’s commitment in the Lößnitztal is intended to strengthen the Erzgebirge, especially with a view to the club’s upcoming 80th anniversary.
