Daniel Baier became a club legend at FC Augsburg and is now an official at the competition. And will soon be playing in the district league.

A possible comeback is attracting attention: Daniel Baier could soon be on the pitch again – but in the district league at SpVgg Niedernberg. The former Bundesliga professional would play there under his father Jürgen. He in turn told the “Kicker”: “He’s on fire, but to say he’s playing for us from now on would be a bit too much. He has his passport with us. And when he’s there, he’ll play for us. If I let him.”

Apparently it’s not Daniel himself who is behind the district league idea, but his father Jürgen. “Family is the most important thing for me. When my father approached me, it quickly became clear to me what I was doing. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to this great club,” said Daniel Baier.
