The former Munich resident Douglas Costa is apparently pursuing a strange plan. As Sky Sport Italia reports, the 35-year-old is close to moving to Italian fourth division club Chievo Verona – only to join Al-Ettifaq in Dubai after the season. The president of Al-Ettifaq, Pietro Laterza, is also the owner of Chievo. An oral agreement is said to have already been reached.
VfB Stuttgart has loaned central defender Leonidas Stergiou to Bundesliga rivals 1. FC Heidenheim. The Swiss will now help in the fight to stay in the class on the Ostalb until the end of the season.
Heidenheim’s CEO Holger Sanwald praised the right-footer: “With Leonidas Stergiou we are gaining a player for our defense who knows the Bundesliga well and, despite his still young age, already has considerable experience.”
Hamburger SV is apparently looking into a possible signing of Kevin Müller. According to TV channel Sky, the 34-year-old keeper from 1. FC Heidenheim is currently the preferred option should the club decide to bring in an experienced goalkeeper. Since Daniel Peretz’s departure, the Bundesliga newcomer has continued to look for a replacement goalkeeper for regular goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes.
According to the report, Müller received approval for a move in January and would be available for almost free transfer. However, there is said to have been no contact between the two clubs so far.
