ex 1 FC Köln talent: Cauly moves to City Club EC Bahia

Active in Brazil for the first time

The offensive player Cauly, who grew up in Germany and trained at 1. FC Köln, is moving to his native country Brazil for the first time. The 27-year-old signed a contract with the first division club EC Bahia on Friday until the end of 2026. Cauly comes from Ludogorets Razgrad to the newly promoted Série A, who is said to be paying a transfer fee of 2.3 million euros.

The German-Brazilian left SC Paderborn 07 for Bulgaria at the beginning of 2020, and the East Westphalians collected 600,000 euros at the time. With Ludogorets, Cauly won the league three times in a row, in 115 games he contributed 27 goals and 21 assists. In Germany, after his time in the “Effzeh” youth team, he was also active for Fortuna Cologne and MSV Duisburg.

“Cauly is a player well known to City Football Group scouts in both Europe and Latin America and is our first choice as part of the selection process and analysis of market alternatives. Not only has he excelled in the national championships he has competed in, but also in more demanding competitions like the Europa League and that was a deciding factor in the choice,” said manager Carlos Santoro. EC Bahia agreed to a majority stake from City Football Group in December 2022 and will be the twelfth club in the consortium.
