Even after a recount of ballots in De Wolden, VVD remains in two seats

The recount of the ballots during the municipal elections in De Wolden has not resulted in a third seat for the VVD. The party asked Tuesday to go through the ballot papers again, because with a few votes difference, the last remaining seat went to GroenLinks. And that was at the expense of a VVD seat.

In the end, the VVD even got one vote less than a week ago. “We now have the certainty that things are as they are,” says party chairman Marcel Hulst. “We have to deal with that, but we do support our choice for the recount.”

Extra hours

It also did not result in a different number of seats for the other parties. Mayor Inge Nieuwenhuizen expressed her thanks to all the people involved in the recount. “It is great that all volunteers from the polling stations were ready today, they worked many extra hours. Thank you for that.”
