André van Duin started his new TV program last night ‘At Van Duin in the backseat‘, in which he interviews fellow comedians in the back seat of a vintage car. None other than Youp van ‘t Hek was roped in for the season opener. At the end of the broadcast, another celebrity appeared to be in the car.

Eva as a driver

When the old-timer has arrived at the Amsterdam theater Carré after forty minutes, where Youp has to give a performance, André addresses the driver of the old-timer for the first time. “Ah, driver, can you pick us up at the artist exit at about eleven o’clock?”

Then none other than Eva Jinek turns around. “Of course, Mr Van Duin. I’ll be there. Good evening!”

André: “Okay, see you later, huh? Thank you! Bye!”

Youp surprised on Carré’s doorstep: “André, André. That was ehh… That driver.”

Story creep

André and Youp discussed all kinds of this and that with Eva in the backseat. For example, they lashed out at C stars. “I sometimes see people say that on television, like: ‘I can’t go out into the street.’ Then I think: but who are you then? It’s just me, isn’t it?” Youp said.

He continues: “What is strange about many celebrities… I used to be just lying at my house with a machine gun and if a Santegoed or such a Story creep came, we were shooting, but now everyone puts everything on Instagram via Instagram. Your mother’s deathbed, the dog that doesn’t want to get into the elevator, it all comes down to it.”

The Mask

Andre thinks the same. “I am here now, I am there now. What do I care?! You also have the program of The Mask (The Masked Singer, ed.). Then they take off that head and then I don’t know yet!”

Youp is a bit tired of celebrities anyway. “When I get out of the show, I come home and usually Debby is still awake and we have a glass of wine. I often look through what has been on TV. I always have to be a bit careful with those talk shows, because there are so often the same guests.”

Stupid

André also recognizes himself in that image. “Yes, almost always. If they are not with one, they are with the other.”

Youp: “Then you think: Diederik Gommers, there he is again. The whole corona is over, right? But he will then participate in The Dangerous Roads. It shouldn’t get dumber.”
