Eva Jinek is delighted that she is on holiday again. She will be succeeded tonight by Beau van Erven Dorens, which means that the presenter can go mother for a while.
Just before her arrival on RTL 4, Eva Jinek was overflowing with ambition. “I am capable of anything, anything. I don’t come here to work my shifts, but to succeed. To make my point, to accomplish something,” she shouted. These days, she seems to mostly drag herself from vacation to vacation. And now she has one more.
Without TV junk
Eva thinks it’s great that she can count her RTL millions at home for a while. Nowadays it hardly takes any effort for her to kick the TVrush. “It used to take me two weeks to land after a TV season, now, after all these years, it only takes 20 minutes,” she says in her newsletter.
That’s how long the ride from Amsterdam to her celebrity village Abcoude takes. There she always immediately gets rid of her foundation. “Without all that TV stuff on my head, I’m Evi again, because that’s my name back home. My Czech pet name, as my family and friends call me.”
Good mothering
What will Eva be doing in the near future? Dusting, lighting candles and cooking soup. “I was so looking forward to that. Small things become great if you are allowed to desire them once in a while.”
But most importantly: Eva can be a full-time mother again. “I can be a much more mother again, and spend more time with my parents. I catch up with my brother, and every night I eat at home with the boys and put Pax to bed myself. (…) I left my TV life in the studio and that feels very healthy.”
Six weeks
Will Eva also do something in terms of work? “Of course I still have to finish my second book and have a meeting, because the next TV season will start in six weeks.”
The reason Eva refers to this as “already” in six weeks is because a month and a half vacation is unusually short by Eva’s standards. She is normally gone for three to six months.
