Eva Jinek (46) surprises friend and foe: we don’t see much of it hidden behind that avocado table, but she turns out to be an extremely fit woman with a lot of muscles. “That back is wonderful.”
You wouldn’t say it, but there is a real one outside the spotlight fitgirl hides behind Eva Jinek. The presenter, who lives in Abcoude, turns out to be a real gym tiger, because she likes to sit muscularly behind her avocado table. The 46-year-old AvroTros star spends almost half of his days in the gym.
Nicely muscular
Eva says that her back in particular is really one pile of muscles. “I actually train because I really like it when you feel like you are muscular, that you are strong, and preferably for my back, of course. That you sit upright in a talk show,” she says in the radio program Sterren.nl.
All those muscles form a kind of corset. “I notice the more often I train — if I can do it three times a week, I’m completely happy — that your back is nice and muscular and that just feels so wonderful.”
Swoon
It is very important how she looks at the table, Eva thinks. “If you feel good about where you are sitting and how you are sitting… That makes such a difference to the conversation and then people talk much more easily. I’m completely crazy about my table.”
“I also fall a little in love with all my guests, because everyone is so beautifully lit and then I swoon a bit with everyone. Everyone looks really good at that table.”
Lip gloss
Does Eva have a weird tic before she starts a broadcast? “Sure, sure. Of course, I get made up every day by people who have learned how to do it and who can actually do it. I love experiencing that. And yet, just before I go live, I always have to put a lick of paint on it myself. Or powder something or a little lip gloss.”
“If I don’t do that, it doesn’t feel finished. It has no function at all, it’s just a ritual. I presented Met Het Oog Op Morgen on the radio for three years and then I sat there in the radio studio putting on my lips and everyone was like: ‘Eef, it’s radio, act normal’, but I said: ‘I have to do that before I go live!’”
