Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) was written on the day Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart split

The song was created on the day the two Eurythmics musicians split up. Dave Stewart produced the track, which was released in 1983. In terms of content, Lennox describes what drives people in life.

The winners 2022

A few months ago, all new admissions to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 were announced: On Saturday evening, the performers Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Duran Duran, Eminem, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Carly Simon were honored in addition to Eurythmics. In addition, Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis received the “Musical Excellence Award” and Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotten the “Early Influence Award”. Attorney Allen Grubman, record producer Jimmy Iovine and R&B singer and Sugar Hill Records founder Sylvia Robinson received the Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performers.

This is how bands get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

In order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, the first record or CD of the respective formation must have been released at least 25 years ago. A few musicians are then selected annually by curators.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has repeatedly been criticized for its decision: some say that famous rock bands, such as Iron Maiden, are still missing from the Hall of Fame.
