Eurozone retail sales fell unexpectedly in September. In a month-on-month comparison, sales fell by 0.1 percent, as the European statistics office Eurostat announced on Thursday in Luxembourg. Economists had expected an increase of 0.2 percent. Sales had already shrunk by a revised 0.1 percent in August. Initially an increase of 0.1 percent was determined.
Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 1.0 percent in September. An increase of 0.9 percent was expected here.
