European Cycling Championships course on Drenthe roads: N381 and N376 closed

The European Cycling Championships are in Drenthe in the third week of September. The route goes over two roads in Drenthe, the N381 and N376. Both roads will therefore be closed from September 19 to 21. The N381 will close a day earlier, on September 18, for maintenance work.

Road closures in connection with the European Championships

The following roads will be closed from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 September from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • The N381 is closed in both directions from Zweeloo to Emmen
  • The N376 is closed in both directions from the N381 connection (Noord-Sleen) to the Oude Rijksweg (Erm) intersection.

Be careful, cyclists crossing the road

In a number of places, the police and the motorcycle escort team close the road when the cyclists pass. These are short-term closures that will take place on September 22, 23 and 24. No diversion route is necessary for this, according to the province.

Some exits are also closed when cyclists pass. Traffic can then detour via the next exit. All closures are shown in the map (see below).

The N381 (‘Friesland Route’) is closed in both directions from Westerbork to Emmen due to maintenance work on Monday, September 18.
