European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented himself in battle mode “in her annual State of the Union” on Wednesday. “Europe has to fight for its place in a world in which many superpowers are ambivalent or openly hostile to Europe,” the German said in the European Parliament. “This must be the moment of independence”.
