Bundesliga final spurt

Final spurt in the Bundesliga: Further decisions can be made on matchday 33. So far it is only certain that FC Bayern Munich is German champion and Borussia Dortmund has qualified for the Champions League. These decisions can be made on the penultimate matchday, which now has six different kick-off times instead of the previous one.
Champions and Europa League
Dortmund (67 points, +33 goals) has already secured the premier class ticket. RB Leipzig (62 points, +21 goals) qualifies with a home win against FC St. Pauli. A draw would be enough for a place in the top four if TSG Hoffenheim (58 points, +16 goals) does not win against Werder Bremen. A defeat is enough if Hoffenheim loses and there is a winner in the duel between VfB Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen. There can be no decision about fourth place on matchday 33. Leverkusen (58 points, +23 goals), Stuttgart (58 points, +20 goals) and Hoffenheim are tied.
On the last match day, Leipzig will be visiting Freiburg. Hoffenheim is challenged in Mönchengladbach, Stuttgart is competing in Frankfurt. Only Leverkusen has a home game in the long-distance duel for the premier class: the team around the recently successful goalscorer Patrik Schick welcomes HSV. The Bundesliga does not receive an additional fifth Champions League place for the annual ranking – these went to England and Spain.
Seventh and eighth place
SC Freiburg can still move into the premier class if it wins the Europa League final against Aston Villa on May 20th in Istanbul. If this is lost, the Breisgauers (44 points, -8 goals) could move into the Conference League through seventh place. This could work as early as matchday 33 if Freiburg wins at Hamburger SV and Eintracht Frankfurt (43 points, -3 goals) loses in Dortmund. On the last matchday, Freiburg hosts Leipzig, while Frankfurt meets Stuttgart in front of their own crowd.
No decision can be made about eighth place this weekend. This ranking could become relevant if Freiburg wins the Europa League and stays in seventh place. Then the eighth place would come into the Conference League. Frankfurt, FC Augsburg and 1. FSV Mainz 05 have a mathematical chance of doing so.

Relegation battle
1. FC Heidenheim (23 points, -31 goals), which plays against Mainz, is relegated:
- in our own defeat at 1. FC Köln
- in a draw in Cologne, if VfL Wolfsburg (against FC Bayern) and FC St. Pauli (at RB Leipzig) each get at least one point
- in the event of a win in Cologne, if one team from Wolfsburg and St. Pauli wins and the other plays at least a draw
Relegation
Since VfL Wolfsburg (26 points, -25 goals) and FC St. Pauli (26 points, -28 goals) are tied on points, no decision can be made about the relegation participants at the weekend. On the 34th matchday there will be a direct duel between St. Pauli and Wolfsburg in Hamburg.
1. FC Köln (32 points, -8 goals) and Werder Bremen (32 points, -20 goals) each need one more point to safely avoid relegation. Both clubs manage to do this even in the event of a defeat if neither Wolfsburg nor St. Pauli wins. Cologne travels to the German champions in Munich next week. Bremen welcomes second Dortmund.
