Europa League – Liverpool FC celebrates, Ajax Amsterdam continues to stagger

As of: November 30, 2023 11:23 p.m

Jürgen Klopp has secured his ticket to the round of 16 in the Europa League with Liverpool FC early.

The German team manager’s team defeated Linzer ASK 4-0 (2-0) on Thursday evening (November 30th, 2023) and at the same time benefited from FC Toulouse’s loss of points. The French couldn’t get past a goalless draw against Union St. Gilloise, meaning the Reds can no longer be pushed out of first place in Group E.

Gakpo lands a double, Groß also continues

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz (12th) and Cody Gakpo (15th/90th + 2) scored the goals at Anfield Road, and Mohamed Salah (51st) also scored from the penalty spot.

National player Pascal Groß is also already in the knockout phase; the 32-year-old won 1-0 (0-0) with Brighton & Hove Albion at AEK Athens.

Aubameyang scores three times against Ajax

On the final day of the preliminary round there will now be a showdown for group victory with Olympique Marseille, who retained the upper hand in a wild game against Ajax Amsterdam with 4:3 (2:2) – thanks to the majority, two penalty kicks and a hat-trick including a dream goal with an overhead kick from Ex -BVB striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Disappointed games from Ajax Amsterdam

The Dutch record champions, bottom of Group B with two points, can only achieve third place in the direct duel with Athens in two weeks and the associated qualification for the intermediate round of the Conference League.

Rome needs help for first place

AS Roma couldn’t get past 1:1 (1:0) at Servette Geneva. Star coach Jose Mourinho’s team qualified early for the second round – but in order to secure first place and a direct place in the round of 16, the Italians are dependent on help. Slavia Prague maintained their lead in the table with a 3:2 (1:1) away win at Sheriff Tiraspol.
