Europa League: Atalanta, FC Sevilla and FC Porto in the round of 16

Olympiakos, Zagreb & Lazio out

In addition to RB Leipzig, Atalanta BC, FC Porto and FC Sevilla have reached the round of 16 of the Europa League. Atalanta had little trouble beating hosts Olympiakos Piraeus 3-0 (1-0) on Thursday and had already won 2-1 in the first leg. The main focus was on Ruslan Malinovskyi (66th/69th), who scored twice, who showed his protest against the Russian war of aggression in his home country Ukraine with a T-shirt. In addition, the Danish national player Joakim Maehle (40th) was successful for the Lombards.

Seville lost 0-1 (0-0) at Dinamo Zagreb after a converted hand penalty by Mislav Orsic, but won the first leg 3-1. The ex-Dortmunder and Bremener Thomas Delaney saw the yellow-red card in injury time. Porto drew 2-2 (1-1) at Lazio Roma and thanks to the 2-1 win in the first leg they are one round ahead. Ciro Immobile put the Italians ahead (19′), Mehdi Taremi from the penalty spot (31′) and Mateus Uribe (68′) turned the game in favor of the Champions League relegated team. Danilo Cataldi only managed to equalize for Lazio in the 94th minute.
