Wilson Odobert and James Maddison provided a 2-0 lead from Tottenham against AZ. There, individual mistakes by Wouter Goes and substitute Mees de Wit preceded. Yet Clasie thought that there was little going on after the 2-0 in the 49th minute. “Of course it is a shame that you were behind, but not so much changed. We needed another goal and then we were back in the game. That goal came, but then we got the third from Tottenham too quickly.”
Clasie hoped that after the goal of Peer Koopmeiners AZ, the score could hold longer. “We were determined to look for the attack and got three big possibilities, even after the 3-1. In my opinion we were very close, but that doesn’t count. We’re out.”
