EuroLeague: Francisco match winner for Bayern

With a buzzer beater, Sylvain Francisco gave FC Bayern’s basketball players an important victory in the EuroLeague. The Frenchman scored a three-pointer one second before the end in Serbia at Partizan Belgrade to give Munich a 79:78 (41:45) victory.

Before the three-week break in the competition, the German cup winners improved their record to eleven wins and 15 defeats, and there is still a chance of taking part in the play-offs.

“At Partizan, this is without a doubt one of the most difficult away games you can have in Europe because the atmosphere with the fans is great, they push their team incredibly,” said Bayern coach Pablo Laso before the duel.

Munich still kept the game exciting, Serge Ibaka equalized for Bayern in the heated final phase (72:72/38th minute).

Top scorer Francisco (20 points) cut the lead to 76:78 at the free throw line and then sank the decisive three-pointer. Bayern will not continue until March 1st against Red Star Belgrade. Before that there is the Final Four for the cup in Munich and an international break.
