EuroLeague: FC Bayern and ALBA Berlin step out of the crisis

The German basketball clubs have taken a step out of the crisis in the EuroLeague.

Bottom of the table Alba Berlin caused a surprise with the 85:84 (54:48) victory over the previous leaders Baskonia Vitoria, while Bayern Munich had little problems against Panathinaikos Athens.

Guard Jaleen Smith was the best thrower for the German champions Alba with 18 points, the top scorer of the game was Pierria Henry with 19 points. The Berliners had previously stopped a negative series of twelve bankruptcies in a row with a win in Lyon. Vitoria had not lost a game in the premier class since November.

Bayern dominated the game from the start, in the end it was a clear 84:68 (43:28). Augustine Rubit convinced in the team of coach Andrea Trinchieri with 23 points. In terms of sport, Bayern are still chasing after the strong performances of last season when they reached the play-offs.

Alba remain bottom of the table despite their recent two-game win streak at half-time in the EuroLeague. The capital club was only able to win five of the 17 games. Munich remains behind in the table, but still has an eye on one of the eight play-off places. Three wins are currently missing.

In the Bundesliga, the German EuroLeague representatives meet on Sunday (6:00 p.m./Magenta Sport) in a direct duel between the pursuers of table leaders Telekom Baskets Bonn.
