Once again, Germany. After the world title won two years ago, the Germans conquer the gold medal also at Eurobasket by beating 88-83 a Türkiye that seemed to be in control for large sections of the match. The success of Mumbru’s team has many faces: the Triples of Bonga (MVP of the final), Wagner’s first excellent half, Thiemann’s solidity. But the absolute protagonist is Dennis Schroeder, awarded as the best player of the event. In the first half of the race he seemed completely out of the game, and instead during the second half he inflamed: the last 6 points of the Germans signs them all. In the final 3rd/4th place Antetokounmpo wins the duel with Markkanen: Greece exceeds Finland 92-89, which is missing a sensational comeback for an error from the bezel of Valtonen.
