The hit series Euphorian star Sydney Sweeney, 24, the road to the stars has not been easy.
Before he made his breakthrough and cleared his way into the entertainment industry, he got to hear numerous discouraging comments along the way. One film director told him at the Casting event that his appearance was not suitable for television.
“Now I’m involved in some of the most watched TV shows in the world, and I can only laugh at those offensive comments,” he says.
Today, in addition to starring in several well-known television series, including The White Lotus and Everything Sucks, he has set up his own television production company.
– For years I was constantly told no. I wasn’t good enough, I would never survive, I wasn’t beautiful enough, the star lists.
Finally, in 2018, when Sweeney was 21, he managed to get the role of Little Hulu in The Handmaid’s Tale. He then got roles in the Sharp Objects series and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in the movie.
Most well known, however, is the hit drama Euphoria, in which she was seen in the role of teenager Cassie Howard.
How much the star has been willing to work for his dreams is affected by the financial worries he experienced as a child. Among other things, he says he lived in a one-bedroom hotel room with his parents and brother for nine months.
– I’ve seen how I don’t want to live. I don’t want my own children to experience the same as me in the future, or see me as stressed as I saw my own parents.
The actress is now also supporting her own childhood family so they don’t have to stress like they used to.
– I want to set an example for the younger generations that anyone can do anything.
