The new “Euphoria” season 3 poster shows all the main actors – and reminds fans more of Marvel than of the series. The reactions are devastating.
There has been a lot of hustle and bustle surrounding the successful series “Euphoria” by series creator Sam Levinson in recent years. In 2023, one of the series’ popular main characters, Angus Cloud, died. In addition, an earthquake shook not only the “Euphoria” cosmos, but the entire entertainment industry: The musician Labrinth announced in clear words that he was leaving the project – and possibly the music business in general. He was largely responsible for the soundtrack of the HBO project. Despite all of this, the third season is now in the starting blocks, for which the official poster has now been published. Numerous reactions followed on social media.
Mockery and criticism for new poster
“Euphoria” always attracted attention with its posters for each season. Lead actress Zendaya stood in various scenic lighting situations and different poses, always conveying a mystical impression. This was almost universally well received by the audience. The new poster, however, takes a different approach. All of the main actors can be seen on it. The artwork is hardly reminiscent of the first two seasons – more like an action film in the style of the Marvel universe or even an Oscar winner from director Paul Thomas Anderson from 2025.
This is the film “One Battle After Another”. The fans’ reactions didn’t take long to arrive, especially on the Instagram platform. They expressed themselves primarily in criticism and ridicule – there was hardly anything positive to be said about the new poster. One person directly compared the two posters of the series and “One Battle After Another” and wrote: “One Battle After Euphoria.” Further comments criticized the cover even more harshly. One said: “I feel like I’ve just witnessed a crime.” Another read: “How far have we sunk please?”
What is the third season about?
In the new season there will be a five-year jump in time, and the main characters are no longer high school students, but young adults. However, the topics remain dark as usual. The latest season also focuses on drug addiction, relationships and toxic dynamics as well as identity and self-discovery. The well-known characters are back and pursue different story approaches: Rue continues to struggle with drug addiction and debt, Jules is pursuing an artistic career, and Nate and Cassie are entangled in their complicated relationship.
The new season will be released in Germany on April 13th and can be seen on HBO Max and Sky Wow. After the shitstorm about the poster, the makers are hoping for better criticism for the final broadcast.
