The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the broadcasting of the Russia Today TV channel and the work of the Sputnik agency will be banned in the EU member states. The head of the EC called these media “the Kremlin’s media machine” and stated the need to stop “the spread of toxic and harmful disinformation in Europe.” In response, Sputnik suggested that the EU ban the entire Internet.
