Eton succeeds in raising its sustainability standards: 2022 sustainability analysis

Eton is a world leading luxury brand of men’s shirts and accessories, founded in Sweden in 1928. Committed to quality, innovation and style, the brand designs and manufactures shirts for every occasion in a man’s life, from modern dress shirts to luxurious casual and evening shirts. Here are some insights into their efforts around sustainability.

High level of transparency

Eton has measured its supply chain emissions for the second time and also mapped the amount of water in its supply chain for the first time. The company prides itself that 99% of its emissions are based on actual data and only 1% on estimates. 100% of the sewing workshops the company works with have been checked by an external assessor with good results.

Science-based goal

In addition, Eton’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 targets have been validated by the SBTi science-based Target Initiative, a recognition of their commitment to measuring, mapping and analyzing their greenhouse gas emissions and climate impact. This resulted in a 34% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions compared to the base year. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

More sustainable materials

Eton was certified to the OCS Organic Content Standard, RCS Recycled Content Standard and RWS Responsible Wool Standard in 2022. The company only works with certified or trademarked materials and has sourced 33% sustainable textiles for 2022.
