Known as the father of the SportsCast-Podcast Esko Seppänen again made a juicy result with his business. Last year’s financial statements confirm in many respects that Seppänen is now a millionaire.

In the last financial year (January 1 – December 31, 2024), Es Rhapsody Oy, owned by Seppänen, was approximately EUR 660,900. The operating profit was a whopping EUR 519,300 and after the taxes the result was EUR 387,600.

The figures are tough, although net sales fell by 5.6 per cent from the previous year and operating profit by 14.7 per cent.

The balance sheet reveals that the company’s equity for the first time was seven -digit, just over EUR 1.1 million.

In the previous year, a pot of over € 900,000 rested in the company’s account. It seems that it is now placed as the company’s equity investment bounced from over 180,000 to as many as 968,900 euros. It still has about € 220,000 in the cashier.

ES Rhapsody did not pay the salary at all. Instead, it cost 220,000 euros last year. For the result of the financial year, it intends to distribute a dividend of EUR 150,000.

As a result, the company has distributed more than EUR 800,000 in dividends over the last five years.

The company is virtually debt -free.

Myths fractured

The sports -themed, entertaining -style Sports Sacast has been an exceptional success story. It has broken the myth that the podcast cannot be hit by money.

Es Rhapsody’s Eurovirta consists of a sports cases’ advertising sales and an accessory store.

The podcast swings week to week at the top of Spotify’s most listened to the list of Finland.

– The podcasts’ advertising flow grows in a very direct relationship to the inevitable death of print advertising, Seppänen told Iltalehti in 2023.

– Podcasts will never dominate with their turnover, but they can still keep their head on the surface due to their moderate cost structure. It leads to healthy business.

The number of episodes hosted by Seppänen decreased last year. Today, the Sports Soft family consists of his own episodes Tuomas Virkkunen and Ville Kuusinen presenting the football -related episodes as well as Ville Tourun and Sami Hoffren From NHL episodes.

Seppänen has worked before his podcast career in the former sports magazine, Viaplay and for international betting companies.
