Esko Raipia has died

Esko Raipia, the founder of the Tampere Komediateatteri, has died, writes a Tampere resident.

Theater advisor Esko Raipia has died at the age of 76. Raipia died of a rapidly progressing illness at Hatanpää Hospital in Tampere.

Raipia founded both Tampere Comedy Theater and Suomen Teatteriopisto. During his long career, he has acted in theater, television and films.

From the television side, he is best remembered as Jaakko Järvenheim, the bank manager of Metsols, and Sirkuspelle as Hermann’s Juuso circus director.
