Rainbow monks have returned today to Lidl’s baking points.
– Customers have been welcomed by customers. In sales, it has not become an abnormal product, says Lidl’s Marketing Manager Jonna Musa.
In addition to baking points, the monks will be sold on Saturday at the Helsinki Pride Park Festival. Lidl is the main partner of Helsinki Pride.
“Every monk sold is donated 50 cents to Pride Helsinki,” Musa says.
The price for the rainbow monk is EUR 1.39. A three monk box, on the other hand, costs three euros.
The frontman of the Lidlin Pride campaign is Erika Vikman this year.
“Of course, Erika has tasted the rainbow monk and kept it a lot of taste,” says Musa.

The advertising image of rainbow monks has attracted criticism in some customers. According to Musa, the picture has been considered too bold.
– We realize that the campaign may not appeal to everyone.
Good and commendable feedback on the campaign has also come.
“We think Erika is the right person to encourage people to equate, tolerance and the courage to be himself,” says Musa.
