Defenseman for the San Jose Sharks Erik Karlsson scored two points against the Winnipeg Jets early Tuesday morning Finland time in the NHL.

Karlsson scored both goals for the Sharks as San Jose suffered a 2-6 loss away to the Jets. With his goals, Karlsson already raised his score to 100 power points in this season’s regular season. The Swedish defender has now scored 25+75=100 power points.

The defenseman of the previous one, who has reached more than 100 power points in the NHL, was Brian Leech from the season 1991–1992. Leetch collected 22+80=102 points at that time.

Dallas Stars’ Finnish defenseman Miro Heiskanen is close to making Finnish NHL history.

Heiskanen collected 0+2 power points as the Stars crushed the Detroit Red Wings 6–1.

Heiskasen now has 11+60=71 power points and is only two points away from the single-season point record for Finnish defensemen in the NHL. The record in question is held by Reijo Ruotsalainen, who collected 73 power points in the jersey of the New York Rangers in the 1984–1985 season.

Roope Hintz is the guarantor of Stars’ victory, who grabbed 1+3 power points. Esa Lindell scored his eighth hit of the season. Joe Pavelski scored the Stars’ fifth goal in the game and thus reached 1,000 points in his NHL career.
