‘Erik Dijkstra is eager’

It seems that Khalid Kasem’s TV career is over after the serious revelations of the AD. Who will follow in his footsteps at Khalid & Sophie? “Erik Dijkstra really wants to.”

Khalid Kasem left the TV immediately. Not because of the fierce criticism, the lack of TV talent or the revelation that he is a pawnbroker so hated by BNNVARA, but because of bizarre revelations in the AD. The newspaper explains in a long article that the presenter is not clean and appears to have bribed an official.

Khalid is out

It is good that Khalid has resigned from his job immediately, says Shownieuws expert Frits Huffnagel. “It is very wise that he steps down, because it is a program that has a fairly moralistic character, so you have to be really clean yourself,” he says in the show section.

Is Khalid really done for? Yes, thinks Patty Brard. “We all know that anyone who temporarily stops working for BNNVARA or the NPO almost never comes back.”

Sven & Sophie

Colleague Bart Ettekoven wonders who will succeed Khalid. “Is Sophie going to do it alone?”

Patty: “Sven Kockelmann can do it. Sven & Sophie.”

According to Jort Kelder, it is evident that a replacement must be found. “Yes, and also because he himself said that he is taking a break from his work now. I won’t say that there is an admission of guilt in this, but it does say: oh, wait a minute, something is going on here. It is not like: what a nonsense story and I will ignore it,” he says The Orange Winter.

Erik Dijkstra?

Television expert Victor Vlam does not rule out that Erik Dijkstra will be put forward. The presenter appeared half-naked on television in October, reportedly because he wants a talk show. “They need a replacement very quickly (the program will return on January 29) and Erik is known that he really wants it,” Victor says now on X.

Khalid & Sophie cannot continue as K. & Sophie for the time being, like columnist Johan Fretz suggests ‘in the interest of the suspect’s anonymity’, and that they will simply stop after the summer and let Op1 remain? “I can’t imagine that Op1 is still allowed to stay after the NPO has made it publicly clear that they consider it a failure,” says Victor.

Substitute

Both BNNVARA and the editorial staff will continue as usual, Victor suspects. “The most likely option is that BNNVara appoints a replacement for Khalid to do the late evening with Sophie.”

What does Alexander Klöpping propose? “Now, shall we give Ongehoord Nederland the slot of Op1?”, he jokes on X. And journalist Kim van Keken: “Fidan & Sophie. Then everything will be resolved again in talk show land.”

And BNNVARA itself: “We cannot yet say how the presentation will be completed.”
