Eva Jinek’s famous boobies fragment gave her TV career a kickstart years ago. It eventually even led to signing a multi-million contract with RTL 4. Now that she is leaving there again, a spot has become available on the late evening of that TV channel. And sooner or later it will be filled by someone.

According to Victor Vlam, Erik Dijkstra is publicly applying for it. The opinion tornado recently saw the presenter sitting at Khalid & Sophie and he had almost all the buttons on his shirt open. His testicles just barely fell out. “He had his shirt buttons open almost up to his belly button!”
That goes way too far, Victor says in the authoritative podcast The Communicados. “I thought to myself: well Erik, I think that’s a lot of unbuttoning, maybe it could be a little less, it’s going a long way now. I think it looks a bit unappetizing. This is quite bizarre. Just don’t do it for a while.”
‘It’s crazy’
Victor doesn’t think this is normal behavior. “If you did this or if I did this, we would say to each other: hey, hey, maybe for a little while… Because I mean, it’s good to keep one or two buttons open, but to keep them to keep all five open, that’s a bit crazy. Normally someone will tell you that.”
Why does Erik do this? “I think: these kinds of things are also a bit of a cry for attention. That’s how I see it again. I think he just really wants to stand out. I think this is also a kind of way of putting himself in the spotlight. That he hopes that he might be noticed because he can then do another program.”
In the doldrums
After all, Erik’s career is in a bit of a rut. “He has been on the talk show circuit since 2009. Of course he started at De Wereld Draait Door as Jackal. Well, he was allowed to present Op1 for a short time together with Willemijn Veenhoven, but that didn’t last very long,” says Victor.
He continues: “Later he was no longer put forward by BNNVARA to present a talk show. It was not allowed to go further than Per Second Wiser. They see him as a talk show guest, he can do that, but not as a presenter. And I think he absolutely has those ambitions.”
New Jinek?
With so many buttons open, Erik hopes to attract the attention of the TV boss of RTL, Victor thinks. “This is of course also a way that he might hope: oh, maybe Peter van der Vorst is watching. And they think: hey, I have a vacancy, because Eva has just left, maybe I need Erik Dijkstra.”
He concludes: “Look, everyone knows that no way going to happen. That’s not going to happen in a hundred thousand years. And if it does happen, I will emigrate to Asia. Then I’m gone. But I mean: that’s what someone like that hopes for. And that somewhat explains the shouty behavior in terms of clothing.”
