We all know that sooner or later the Meilandjes will all be on TV again, because attention is addictive. But for Maxime Meiland it is also a necessity. Was she at RTL Tonight for the money?
It was a surprise after all her exclusive years at SBS 6: Maxime Meiland recently appeared several times at RTL Tonight to talk about reality bits and pieces. According to critics, she is not suitable for it, but that will be a problem for Maxime: according to angry tongues, she desperately needs this kind of snack, because her husband barely earns anything.
‘He earns well!’
Leroy Molkenboer, Maxime’s husband, is an ordinary cameraman and of course you cannot afford a celebrity’s life with the amount on his pay slip. Is that why she is at RTL Tonight?
No, says Erica. “Leroy earns well. They each have their own source of income and they have no outstanding invoices,” says the reality celebrity in the Weekend.
Audition with Yvonne
According to Erica, it is true that Maxime is eagerly looking for a TV job. She also auditioned for the failed Yvonne Coldeweijer show De Juice.
Does Erica think it’s a good thing that that didn’t happen in the end? “I really liked Yvonne’s podcast. Maxime did indeed do a test recording, but she decided that she would not participate. The entire project was also canceled, I understand.”
TV future
Is joining RTL Tonight actually not an option for Erica? “No, I have no ambition in that regard. I have not seen the RTL Tonight episodes with Maxime, but the editors wanted some lightness in it and I think Maxime can do that very well.”
What will she do then? “We regularly receive requests for programs. Usually the answer is no, but Martien and Maxime recently said yes to l’ve Got The Music In Me. But other than that, Martien has exactly the same view as I do: nothing for now. We are not thinking about next steps yet.”
The Hanslers
To date, Monique Hansler, with her slavish husband and child, has been the most successful successor to the Meilandjes. What does Erica think of their soap? “I’ve seen parts of it, but I don’t like it.”
However, for Chateau Meiland they no longer have to call her. “Every now and then I put on a crime series in the afternoon and sit in front of the TV with a cup of tea. Just do nothing. What a pleasure!”
