Eric Carmen, known as the vocalist of the band Raspberries, has died at the age of 74.

Vocalist Eric Carmen has died at the age of 74. A musician’s wife Amy Carmen announced the sad news on Monday, March 11, on her husband’s official website.

– Our sweet, loving and talented Eric died in his sleep over the weekend. He was delighted that his music touched so many over several decades. It will be his eternal legacy.

– We ask that you respect our family’s privacy as we mourn this great loss. Only love matters… Faithful and eternalshe ends her writing about her husband Love Is All That Matters to the lyrics of the song.

Carmen’s exact time or cause of death has not been made public so far.

Born in Cleveland, Carmen rose to fame in the 1970s pop-rock group Raspberries. The band’s hits include, among others Go All the Way and I Wanna Be With You. The band made a total of 4 albums.

After the band broke up in the mid-1970s, Carmen started her solo career, which was quite successful. His most famous songs include, among others All By Myself, Never Gonna Fall in Love Again and Hungry Eyeswhich also played in the hit movie Dirty Dancing. Carmen’s music production was mostly known as ballad-oriented. The singer released a total of 6 studio albums during her solo career.

The musician was married three times during his life. He was married first by Marcy Hill with in 1978-1979. In 1993, he got married by Susan Brown with, and they have two children: Kathryn and Clayton. The couple divorced in 2009 and about 7 years later the man married Amy.
