The Frenchman Kevin Staut prevailed with a world-class ride at the German Masters in Stuttgart. With Beau de Laubry he was only a few tenths better than the competition.

Show jumper Kevin Staut secured victory in the Grand Prix at the World Cup tournament in Stuttgart. The 43-year-old Frenchman rode to first place on Sunday at the climax of the five-day tournament in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in the saddle of Beau de Laubry, while no German starter made it onto the podium.

Harry Charles has to settle for second place

With the fastest zero-fault ride of the jump-off, the 2009 European champion relegated Britain’s Harry Charles with Casquo Blue to second place and thus prevented the 24-year-old from achieving a double success. Charles won the second important test in the German Master late on Friday evening.

Dreher is only happy with his horse

Hans-Dieter Dreher achieved the best result for the hosts in the play-off of the Grand Prix with eight pairs. The 51-year-old professional from Eimeldingen rode Elysium to fourth place. “I’m super happy with my horse. He jumped really well again,” said Dreher in an interview with SWR Sport. “I’m not 100 percent happy with myself. I didn’t catch the turn on the last jump. I rode around the back. I think that cost me the victory.

However, he was very satisfied with his performance at the Masters: “I had a very great weekend. I was placed in every competition with my three horses and was able to win two competitions. I’m super happy.”
