The curtain has fallen for the Equestrian Center Emmen in Erica. The company will close its doors on March 1. Classes end a month early. The riding school is now for sale for almost 1.7 million euros.

“After many years of dedication and passion, we have decided to take a new path for several reasons,” the operators say on the website. “We would like to thank everyone very much for your trust, dedication and enthusiasm over the past few years.” There was no one present at the riding school on Thursday who could explain the decision.

The building is owned by Johan Velzing. The developer was recently in the news in connection with the new construction plans on the site of the Party Palace discotheque in New Amsterdam/Veenoord. He was also unavailable for explanation.

The equestrian center consists of 79 boxes, two indoor riding lanes, catering space and a company house.
