The Final Four of the Italian Super Cup comes to life. After yesterday’s landing of Inter, the first of our four teams to land in Riyadh, today it is the turn of Milan, Atalanta and Juventus. All before midnight, in time to move to their hotel and toast the new year. On the streets of Riyadh there are billboards and advertisements that recall the Super Cup matches and there is interest around the event. This is confirmed by the Saudi Ministry of Sports which has signed the four-year contract with the League (we are in the second year) and which in recent days has organized activities to publicize the event with interviews with legends of Serie A already present. The teams’ press conferences will begin from today, but the reports in the newspapers and on local TV are already there. This is what their Arab colleagues assure, happy between the Italian and Spanish Super Cups to see great teams arrive in Riyadh in the space of a few days.

It will be played at Al-Awwal Park, the 25,000-seat stadium of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr: January 2nd at 8pm Italian time, 10pm local time, Inter-Atalanta; the day after Juventus-Milan. Same time, same stadium. The final is scheduled for Monday 6 January, with the defeats in the semi-final having already returned to Italy. Inter have already trained in Riyadh, the others will soon do so, all of which will have different training fields, even if Juve and Milan will share the technical center of Al Shabab, the new team from Terim where Bonaventura plays.

The event will be a Mediaset exclusive which will also broadcast the press conferences of the coaches and players. Tomorrow we start with those of Inter and Atalanta (on sportmediaset.it). The television production standards will be those of Serie A big matches and the matches will be visible in over 160 countries. Among the commentators are Panucci, Ranocchia, Mauro and Paganin. EA Sports will be the title sponsor, the graphics on TV will be those of the popular football video game. The ball? It will be special since Puma has created an all gold one for the occasion, the Puma Orbita. The color was chosen to give prestige to the event.

There will be many events to accompany the Super Cup: it starts tomorrow evening with the welcome dinner with the Saudi Ministry of Sports. The leaders of the Lega Serie A and representatives of the four teams will be there. Among the Legends who will come to Riad in these days Cannavaro, Candela, Ferrara, Pirlo, Toni, Del Piero, Materazzi, Vieri, Zambrotta, Oddo, Capello and Di Biagio. Of note is the great organization of the Lega Serie A which, despite Conceiçao and his staff only being registered by Milan yesterday, managed to get the new Portuguese coach and his collaborators visas in time to enter Saudi Arabia.
