Zeeland Marja donates an impressive collection of 500 Barbies to Hoorn’s museum
With a collection of more than five hundred Barbie dolls, Marja Smallenburg (73) from Wemeldinge in Zeeland has a colorful collection. Part of the collection actually belonged to her mother. Just before she went to the nursing home, she asked if Marja wanted to throw away the dolls. Instead, Marja took the dolls home. “When I saw them again, I fell in love again.”
Marja soon looked for new, beautiful Barbies to complete the collection. There are now five hundred dolls. Because Marja and her husband have registered for a nursing home, she cannot keep the dolls. That is why she decided to donate the collection to a Hoorns museum.
