Raheem Sterling no longer plays a role at Chelsea FC. There was also a blow in his private life: the former goalscorer experienced a great shock in his own four walls.
Raheem Sterling surprised burglars in his home. The perpetrators broke into the exclusive residential area on Saturday evening – apparently shortly before the start of a Chelsea FC game. This was reported by the British newspaper “The Telegraph”.
The offensive player, who was not recently in the club’s squad, was in the house with his wife and their children when the intruders appeared. Apparently surprised by Sterling’s presence, the perpetrators fled without stealing anything.
This isn’t the first time Sterling has been the target of a break-in. During the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, he left the English national team’s quarters after his residence near Chelsea FC’s training ground was attacked.
Sterling is currently going through a sporting low: the former Premier League striker has no future at Chelsea under coach Enzo Maresca and has not been in the Blues squad once this season. The 30-year-old has not been called up for the England national team since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
