Basketball Academy Limburg (BAL) lost 90-69 to Feyenoord in the play-offs of the BNXT League. Due to the defeat, the season for the club from Weert is over.

BAL took a small bonus from the first leg in Weert. That game ended in a 69-68 victory for the Weerter basketball men.

Strong start
BAL got off to a good start in Rotterdam. The men of Radenko Varagic soon managed to create a gap with Feyenoord. A difference of nine points was the biggest difference in favor of BAL. Towards the end of the first quarter, Feyenoord came closer and so BAL closed the first quarter with a 25-22 lead. In the second quarter, the teams were more evenly matched and it seemed to be another exciting game, just like last Wednesday in Weert. Feyenoord eventually led at halftime: 46-42.

Difference
In the third quarter, Feyenoord was stronger than the team from Weert. In the first minutes of the quarter, both teams were level, but with a score of 50-46, the Rotterdam team made the difference. Feyenoord was unstoppable for a while and increased the difference to 16 points: 62-46. It turned out to be a defining phase in the match. BAL did come back a little but trailed 68-55 after the third quarter.

strong phase
In the fourth quarter, BAL also had a strong phase in which it scored a number of runs in a row. As a result, Varagic’s team came back to eight points behind. However, the tension that returned to the match only lasted for a moment. Feyenoord ran out again and eventually won 86-67, which means that BAL has been eliminated from the BNXT League play-offs and the season also ends.
