Emil Lindholm is the WRC2 Junior World Champion of this season’s rally. Lindholm secured his cart together Reeta Hämäläinen with the World Championship title, when the only threat Chris Ingram the season is over.

Drivers participating in the WRC2 Junior series can drive a maximum of seven World Cup rallies during the season, of which the results of the six best races are taken into account. Lindholm, who participated in five races this season, already leads the series with 108 points. The points account will probably accumulate even more in the Catalan and Japanese rallies at the end of the season.

The name of British driver Ingram, who is second in points, cannot be found on the participant list of either race. The reason is the crash that happened in the Greek rally, where the man hurt himself.

When the one who is third in points too much Nikolai Grjazin can no longer reach the score of the 26-year-old Finnish driver, Lindholm’s championship was secured in surprising circumstances.

– The WRC2 Junior World Championship was my main goal. Great news, Lindholm, who races with Skoda, rejoiced in his press release.

Another title?

At the same time, Lindholm reveals his second big goal for the end of the season. If everything goes well, the Finnish pair team can also grab another world championship.

The title is also available in the actual WRC2 class. Point tip Andreas Mikkelsen has already driven all seven World Cup rallies entitling to World Cup points, so the Norwegian’s final points for the season remain at 109.

Lindholm is 20 points behind Mikkelsen, but the Finn can increase his points balance with one more World Cup rally, as well as improve his weakest rating. In February, Lindholm from Sweden got three points, so there should be plenty more points without any problems.

In addition to Mikkelsen and Lindholm, Poland is also fighting for the WRC2 championship Kajetan Kajetanowicz.

In terms of the WRC2 class World Championship struggle, the weekend’s Catalunya rally is of enormous importance.
