The fifth edition of the Circular Textile Days will take place on September 10th and 11th, 2025, which represents a significant milestone in promoting the circular transition process in the textile industry. Under the theme “Transforming Mindsets: Embracing Circular Business Models in Textiles,” the event will focus on the critical mindset shift required to make circular economy the norm.

At the last event, more than 1,300 visitors from 26 countries came together and laid the foundation for implementable changes. In preparation for the upcoming event, Circular Textile Days conducted an in-depth study in collaboration with students from several universities of applied sciences. They examined the current state of the textile industry and determined what is really necessary to achieve meaningful improvements.

The result was this ‘Manifesto for Circular Textiles’ created which sets out five key priorities to move the industry forward. This includes:

  • Strengthening collaboration across the entire value chain,
  • Design for durability and recycling,
  • promoting transparency and traceability,
  • Implementation of scalable circular business models and
  • Remove policy barriers to accelerate sustainable practices

The manifesto was widely shared on Circular Textile Days platforms after the event, sparking discussions that shaped many of the conversations during the last edition. These actionable insights remain central as we prepare for the 2025 event, ensuring that Circular Textile Days maintains its position as a platform where innovation meets implementation. Rachel de Gooijer from Circular Textile Days explains: “The manifesto is not just a statement, but a call to action. Based on in-depth research, it brings to the fore the real challenges facing the industry and will continue to drive meaningful progress in the future.”

The last edition offered a compelling program with well-known names such as Patagonia, IKEA and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, all attracting a packed audience. Innovations such as the presentation of BASF’s loopamid® jacket, developed in collaboration with Zara, offered tangible solutions to key industry challenges. Exhibitors reported overwhelming interest in their booths, with many noting that they barely had a moment to leave – a clear sign of the event’s relevance and its ability to attract the right audience.

The atmosphere at the Circular Textile Days is more than attractive; it is transformative. Participants consistently emphasize that the event goes beyond networking and provides a space for true collaboration and actionable insights. It is a place where companies connect, rethink their strategies and gain the tools they need to put the circular economy into action.

Looking ahead to 2025, Circular Textile Days will continue to build on this legacy. The 5th Edition promises to be another transformative moment for the textile industry. Early bird registration opens in January 2025. This is your opportunity to join the movement and be part of the change that is shaping the future of the textile industry.
