National athlete Elvira Süleyman Kamaloğlu reached the finals at the 2026 European Wrestling Championship held in Albania. On the fourth day of the organization in the capital Tirana, the finalists in women’s 53, 57, 62, 65 and 72 kilos were announced.


Representing Türkiye in the 57 kilo category, Elvira Süleyman Kamaloğlu reached the semi-finals by defeating Hungarian Tamara Dollak with a 10-0 technical advantage in the eliminations and defeating Belarusian Aryna Dzemchanka Martynava from the UWW team 9-5 in the quarter-finals.


Elvira, who beat Azerbaijani Zhala Aliyeva 6-2 in the semi-finals, made it to the finals of the European championships for the second time in a row. The national wrestler will face Polish Magdalena Urszula Glodek Liszewska in the gold medal fight tomorrow evening.


World champion Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu, wrestling in the 72 kilo category, defeated Belarusian Viktoryia Radzkova of the World Wrestling Union (UWW) team by pinfall in the quarter-finals and advanced to the semi-finals. Buse, who lost her semi-final with Polish Wiktoria Choluj 8-2, will fight for the bronze medal.


Beyza Nur Akkuş earned the right to repechage after Alina Kasabieva from the UWW team, whom she lost in the 65 kilo quarter-finals, advanced to the final. Beyza Nur will come to the mat for the bronze medal if she wins the repechage competition.


National athletes Zeynep Yetgil (53 kilos) and Sevim Akbaş (62 kilos) said goodbye to the organization after losing to their opponents in their first match.
