Elmos wants to part with wafer production – Higher investments in growth

DORTMUND (dpa-AFX) – The semiconductor manufacturer Elmos (Elmos Semiconductor) wants to sell the production of starting material for Chi production (wafers) in Dortmund to the US group Littelfuse. The purchase price totals around 93 million euros, the SDAX-listed company announced on Wednesday in Dortmund. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year but still has to be approved by .

Among other things, the foreign trade investment control by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is pending. This is why the planned sale of the wafer manufacturer Siltronic to the Taiwanese group GlobalWafers failed in recent years.

Elmos wants to concentrate more on research and development as well as test operation and is therefore also increasing the investment quota by two percentage points to around 19 percent. For this reason, the company is now expecting a negative operating adjusted free cash flow in the current year./zb/ag
