Ellemieke Vermolen is writing a book about dealing with loss. The 45-year-old presenter discusses in the book, among other things, the loss of her son Josha. She also discusses her divorce from chef Sergio Herman.
By our entertainment editorsVermolen wants to tell readers that things will always work out, regardless of the setbacks. She does find it “terrifying” to publish the book, says Vermolen on Friday evening in RTL Boulevard. “Because of course it’s my story.”
Although Vermolen will also write about her divorce, she will not throw mud. “We are at the stage where we have forgiven each other and that we are better without each other. If you can see that, then you also have the confidence that the other will handle it well.”
Vermolen says about her son Josha: “My son’s story is just a nice story to read back. I have processed that. I can really say that I have given it a place.”
In January 2021 it was announced that Vermolen and Herman were no longer together. In addition to their son Josha, who died just before his birth in 2018, the two have two more sons: Noah and Zenna.
